We're a gastropub with a healthy Belgian fetish on H Street NE. It's the best place around for moules-frites and an impressive selection of world-class beers. We also dish up daily food specials and host regular beer events.

Local tavern magnate, Joe Englert, purchased the abandoned building at 1238 H Street NE in April of 2005. Joe’s vision was a local watering hole – one that looked and felt like it had been there forever; one reminiscent of the Bourbon Street Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar, near his vacation home in New Orleans, LA.

With the vision realized, Dr. Granville Moore’s Brickyard opened its doors on August 5, 2007 as a Belgian beer bar. Granville Moore’s soon shifted focus – and shortened its name – as Chef Teddy Folkman's moules, frites, and upscale bar food began to attract foodies and beer-lovers alike.

After 9 years, Granville Moore's has appeared in everything from Food Network shows including "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" to national periodicals like The New York Times and Playboy. In addition Granville Moore's food and drink have been receiving local and national accolades including 9 TIME Washington City Paper's "Best Mussels in DC"  (2008-2016). Dr. Granville Moore's is a destination for eating and drinking.

Teddy Folkman - Executive Chef 

Local celebrity chef Teddy Folkman has been with Granville Moore's for over 8 years. He continues to oversee operations at the H Street hot spot, while managing his other culinary endeavors including BAROAK at the Loews Annapolis Hotel ( and Maison/Dixon Hot Chicken. Lauren Saunders - Chef de Cuisine

Starting out as a server at Granville's, chef Lo always knew the kitchen was where she wanted to be.  After many years of hard work and dedication, Lo moved her way up from prep cook, to line cook, to prep chef all the way to chef de cuisine adding her elegant touch and vibrant personality to the food coming out of Granville's kitchen.  With a love for fresh seasonal vegetables and recreating classics, keep your eyes out for some new lighter yet bold menu items to enhance the taverns already famous cuisine.

Erin Gilbert - Beverage Maven

Erin, a 6 year employee at Granville Moore's, has taken her carnal knowledge of beer and has built upon Granville's wonderful Belgium-centric menu to include a diverse selection of international beers including hard to find and one off selections. Her ever changing draft menu of 16 beers can find also find a hardy splash of local  beer love. Follow her on Twitter @feralerin
