Local tavern magnate, Joe Englert, purchased the former office and home of local physician, Dr. Granville Moore, MD. The abandoned building at 1238 H Street NE inspired Joe’s vision for a local watering hole – one that looked and felt like it had been there forever; one reminiscent of the Bourbon Street Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar, near his vacation home in New Orleans, LA, that featured Belgian beer and a tiny kitchen for mussels and fries.
With the vision realized, Dr. Granville Moore’s Brickyard opened its doors on August 5, 2007 as a Belgian beer bar. Granville Moore’s soon shifted focus – and shortened its name – as Chef Teddy Folkman's moules, frites, and upscale bar food began to attract foodies and beer-lovers alike.
After 9 years, Granville Moore's has appeared in everything from Food Network shows including "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" to national periodicals like The New York Times and Playboy. In addition Granville Moore's food and drink have been receiving local and national accolades including 9 TIME Washington City Paper's "Best Mussels in DC" (2008-2016). Dr. Granville Moore's is a destination for eating and drinking.

Teddy Folkman - Executive Chef
Local celebrity chef Teddy Folkman has been with Granville Moore's since its first days back in the Summer of 2007! He continues to oversee operations at the H Street hot spot, while managing his other culinary endeavors including BAROAK at the Loews Annapolis Hotel (www.baroakannapolis.com) and Maison/Dixon Hot Chicken. Chrishon Addison and Christopher Sidney - Kitchen Guardians
Chrishon and Chris have been at Granville Moore's for a combined nine years. Chrishon got his start on H Street running the kitchen at Star and Shamrock. After joining Granville Moore's in 2011 Chrishon has been our ROCK. Not only is he the recipe ninja, both contributing creatively and perfectly replicating the menu items day after day, but he also can be found running food, hosting, serving and managing the floor. Chris joined us in 2012 as a line cook. His skills were quickly recognized as more then just a line cook and Chris began training and working with the cooks to elevate their attention to detail and improve the efficiency of the kitchen. He now leads the troops each night, ensuring that everything is up to Granville's standards.
